CDYFL Social Media Contract
The Capital District Youth Football League (CDYFL) is committed to fostering a positive and respectful environment for all players, coaches, officials, and families. Social media can be a powerful tool for communication and community engagement, but it must be used responsibly. To protect the integrity of our league and ensure a supportive atmosphere, we require all parents/guardians to adhere to the following social media guidelines.
Prohibited Social Media Behavior
Any negative, inappropriate, or disrespectful posts, comments, or messages—regardless of intent—about the following will result in immediate disciplinary action:
CDYFL League, Policies, or Decisions – Publicly criticizing or disparaging league operations, rules, or administration.
Coaches or League Officials – Posting negative remarks or engaging in online attacks against team staff, referees, or board members.
Players – Posting or sharing any derogatory, inflammatory, or offensive comments about players within or outside the program.
Other Programs & Organizations – Making disparaging remarks about competing teams, leagues, or organizations affiliated with youth sports.
Parents, Spectators, or Community Members – Engaging in cyberbullying, harassment, or creating a hostile online environment.
Consequences for Violations
Any violation of this policy, regardless of platform or privacy settings, will result in:
Immediate Ban from Attendance – The violating parent/guardian will be prohibited from attending games, practices, and any CDYFL-related events.
Review by League Officials – A formal review may determine if further disciplinary action is necessary, including potential suspension of the player's participation.
Permanent Ban for Repeat Offenses – Continued violations will result in a permanent ban from all league activities.
Commitment to a Positive Environment
We encourage all parents to use social media to support their children and the league in a respectful and positive manner. Any concerns should be addressed directly with league officials through proper channels instead of public forums.
